At the end of the day, your feet should be bare, your hair wild, your eyes sparkling, and you should be on the deck with a great book.
Although it wasn’t intentionally planned this way, Sydney spent the first several years of her career climbing the ladder in industries that could be considered somewhat evil—working in oil, then alcohol, then venture capital. It was only on later reflection that she realized there was a very different through-line connecting her insider experiences. And she had stories to tell.
So she pursued the long-held dream of becoming a writer, exploring the unspoken dynamics that fascinated her most. Power, gender, ambition, identity, trust. The deepest truths about these things are often most clearly revealed in fiction.
Sydney is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business. She has lived and worked in multiple cities across Canada, the United States, and Europe, and has been fortunate enough to travel to beautiful places all around the world. She likes to take her characters to destinations that have inspired her. Her first novel is set in London and Ibiza, and her second in Switzerland.
Proudly Canadian, Sydney and her Australian husband are currently based in Houston. They spend their free time planning the next trip, pursuing outdoor adventures, sampling craft beers with friends, and trying to keep their mischievous golden retriever out of trouble.
